1. About CarLook AI
CarLook AI ("CarLook", "we", "us") is an automotive intelligence platform operated from the United Kingdom, accessible at carlook.ai. We provide vehicle history checks, AI-powered deal scoring, car valuations, and live UK dealer listings to help consumers make more informed used-car purchasing decisions.
By accessing or using any part of the CarLook AI platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United Kingdom to use paid features of CarLook AI. Free tools are available to all users globally, subject to these Terms. By using the platform you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Nature of the Service — Important Limitations
CarLook AI is an information and guidance tool only. Nothing on this platform constitutes professional mechanical, legal, financial, or insurance advice. Our AI-generated scores, valuations, and risk assessments are based on available data and statistical models and may not reflect the full condition or history of any individual vehicle.
CarLook AI does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data presented, including but not limited to:
- MOT history and test results (sourced from DVSA)
- Vehicle registration and keeper data (sourced from DVLA)
- Live dealer listing prices and availability (sourced from MarketCheck UK dealer network)
- eBay Motors listing data (sourced from eBay)
- AI-generated valuations and deal scores
You should always conduct an independent physical inspection, obtain a full HPI or equivalent check, and seek independent professional advice before purchasing any vehicle. CarLook AI is not liable for any purchasing decisions made in reliance on information provided through this platform.
4. Third-Party Data Sources
CarLook AI integrates data from the following third-party providers. Use of this data is subject to the terms of each provider.

Live dealer listing data displayed on CarLook AI is sourced from the MarketCheck UK dealer network. MarketCheck data is provided for informational purposes only. Prices, availability, and dealer details may change without notice. CarLook AI is not affiliated with any dealer listed through MarketCheck and accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of individual listings.
5. Paid Reports and Subscriptions
Certain features of CarLook AI, including full vehicle history reports, require a one-off payment or an active subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Refund policy: Due to the digital nature of vehicle history reports, which are generated and delivered immediately upon payment, we are unable to offer refunds once a report has been unlocked and viewed. If you experience a technical failure that prevents report delivery, please contact us within 48 hours and we will investigate and, where appropriate, provide a replacement report or refund at our discretion.
Subscription plans may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused subscription days.
6. VRM Lookups and Vehicle Checks
When you submit a UK vehicle registration mark ("VRM") for a check, you confirm that you have a legitimate reason to enquire about that vehicle — for example, as a prospective buyer, the registered keeper, or an authorised agent. You must not use CarLook AI to conduct bulk VRM lookups, to harvest vehicle data, or for any purpose that would constitute a misuse of DVLA or DVSA data under the Road Traffic Act 1988 or related legislation.
VRMs submitted by users are processed to retrieve data from DVLA and DVSA APIs. We do not store VRMs in association with your personal identity beyond what is necessary to deliver the service and maintain transaction records.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or scrape the platform
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary scoring algorithms
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the platform
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any data obtained from CarLook AI without written permission
8. Intellectual Property
The CarLook AI brand, logo, scoring methodology, AI models, interface design, and all original content are the intellectual property of CarLook AI and its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without prior written consent. Data sourced from third parties (DVLA, DVSA, MarketCheck, eBay) remains the property of those respective parties and is used under licence.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, CarLook AI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform or any information obtained through it. This includes, without limitation, any loss arising from a vehicle purchase decision made in reliance on CarLook AI data.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform develops. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-platform notification. Continued use of CarLook AI after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The current version is always available at carlook.ai/terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
